"LIVE PHOTOS" update

(It's snowing today)

The camera setup is now operating on 100% solar power. The large solar panel (20" x 32") is hooked to a 12-volt deep-cycle battery, through a charging controller. The camera and video transmitter are connected to the battery. The video transmitter send the picture to the receiver, which is located just outside the house, next to the office.

The solar panel has enough power to run the camera and transmitter 24/7. In the daylight, it runs the equipment, plus recovers the battery charge for the drain at night. (I may add a circuit to shutdown the system at night, as it really can't "see" much.)

After I get all the kinks worked out, I will move the entire package a couple of hundred feet up the hill behind the house, where it will have a much more interesting view. (The move will probably happen next week: Keep watching.)

Click "LIVE PHOTOS" on the right sidebar to see what the camera is currently seeing. Updates hourly, more or less on the hour i.e., 6:00; 7:00; 8:00; etc.)
